Early Spring Longjing — known in the West as Dragonwell — is China's most celebrated green tea, grown in the mist-covered hills of Hangzhou's Lin An district. Where Pre-Qingming Longjing captures the very first buds of spring, Early Spring Longjing follows in the weeks after April 5th, producing a fuller, rounder leaf with its own distinctive character: a bright, fresh quality with notes of green apple and a long honey sweetness.

Sourced from the same certified organic garden as our Pre-Qingming Long Jing — Jiu Keng Qun Ti Zhong cultivar, 800 meters elevation, organic since 2005 — this tea is processed by the traditional pan-firing method that gives Long Jing its defining flat-leaf shape and roasted-grain depth. The flavor profile here leans sweeter and more approachable than its earlier-harvested sibling, making it an ideal everyday Dragonwell.

In the cup: a golden-yellow liquor with a clean, spinach-fresh aroma carrying light citrus. The taste is bright and nutty with a satisfying green apple note and a lingering honey sweetness that coats the palate through multiple infusions.

Currently available as 1oz (28g) at 50% off — 2023 harvest clearance pricing while we transition to our 2026 stock.
